Croup Ridden

So we are struggling at the browers residence. Little Bently has croup. We took him to the dr this morning and they verified it. He was put on Steroids and Doc Grey promised me he would be better for christmas. I didn't really know what croup was. I thought it was a bad cough that comes from an infection in the lungs, that anyhow isn't the case. It is a virus that attacks the vocal chords. And it makes them very swollen and that is where the scary part comes in. If they get too swollen it will constrict the airway and cause the baby to stop breathing. SCARY.. So the steroids will help keep the larnyx the normal size. Keep our fingers crossed. I really thought that having a reflux baby was rough... no it doesn't compare. Bently the poor thing, crys most of the time and reaches up to be held and then you pick him up and he crys more and pushes away. but one thing that is new with him is he took his first steps yesterday!!!!! can you believe it??? only 9 and a half months old. He is a goer that is for sure. I am so excited. He is so adorable, i just hate seeing him so sick and miserable. Cross your fingers that this will go away soon.

Poor little Bently :( I'll be praying for him. I can't believe he took his first steps already! He'll be running around with Brody before you know it! Little cutie!

Stetson has croup last May and it was horrible! Just a trick, bundle him up and take him outside in the cold for a few minutes at a time. It will really open things up and he will breathe better!

Isn't that the cutest? You should make it too, then we can email each other and laugh about how hard it is!

Eric's big Christmas gift this year is a metal detector. Ha! He can be such a little dork sometimes. He's wanted one all year and now he thinks he's going to find all these lost treasures and coins. He's a really big coin collector. A lot of our savings are those dang coins! They drive me nuts sometimes! So that's what I got him. What are you getting Blake?
