Sledding @ the Shepards

I totally feel wierd calling them the Shepards. But we got invited to come up to Sandy and Paula's house for a little Christmas party, if you will. It was so fun and amazing great food. While we were there we did a little sledding down a path that Sandy had created in their back yard. Brody hopped right in and they were off. Seriously i have never heard brody laugh so much my whole life. He giggled and giggled the WHOLE time. It was so cute.
Then I decided i should try. I totally made a fool of myself. I don't why but i am just not your typical snow bunny, i was up there in high heels for heck sakes. It was a good try though. I got lots of ridicule from everyone the whole rest of the day, about how bad i sucked. Blake on the other hand was like a professional. He went mock 90 the whole way down, like it was no thing, while brody is laughing hysterically. After some sledding Brody played in there 3 feet of snow.

As i stood on the deck watching him play i could here him telling himself stories and making himself laugh. He is so cute and so full of personality. He has the most vivid imagination. He came home with WALL E, and a major sugar/hyper high. He was out of control and driving us nuts. Thanks so much Paula, and Sandy for the amazing food, christmas gifts and everything that you do for us. You are so good to us. We love you very much.

A couple of firsts...

Today we went to the church to see santa. It wasn't brody's first time but i was still worried. He Did really well and as you can see he was in a deep thought as to what he was going to ask for christmas, after all this was SANTA.

Bently on the other hand wasn't so good. As soon as he was placed in santa's
lap he arched his back and was done. Good first try, at least no screaming.
then, We headed off to our first time at the movie theater, to The Tale of Despereaux.

Doesn't he look so little in this chair? He had such a great time. I think it made it so much funner to go with his friends. Bently did really well too. He sat in his carseat for a while then, he fussed, so i got him out and held him and then put him back in the carseat
and gave a bottle and then the impossible he went to SLEEP. it was great. I am so blessed to have such great friends. We had a wonderful day

playin in a winter wonderland!!

The snow is here and we are loving it. Well love is a strong word for me, but i have really enjoyed it having a 3 yr old changes things. Bently on the other hand is mortifyed of it. I am sure that will change. I think it is the fact it is cold that makes him not a fan.

While bently was napping today (which is so nice to have him almost back to normal, he is feeling lots better) Brody and i went out and played in the snow. I shoveled and he helped using my garden shovel. After trying numerous times to shovel with it he quit. I guess it was because he only got a palm full everytime he would scoop.

Anyway he had lots of fun playing while i through out my back and called it quits trying to shovel the walkway. I really am glad we get some snow for Christmas. The snow just changes the scenery. Even the sagebrush looks pretty under a sheet of snow.

Croup Ridden

So we are struggling at the browers residence. Little Bently has croup. We took him to the dr this morning and they verified it. He was put on Steroids and Doc Grey promised me he would be better for christmas. I didn't really know what croup was. I thought it was a bad cough that comes from an infection in the lungs, that anyhow isn't the case. It is a virus that attacks the vocal chords. And it makes them very swollen and that is where the scary part comes in. If they get too swollen it will constrict the airway and cause the baby to stop breathing. SCARY.. So the steroids will help keep the larnyx the normal size. Keep our fingers crossed. I really thought that having a reflux baby was rough... no it doesn't compare. Bently the poor thing, crys most of the time and reaches up to be held and then you pick him up and he crys more and pushes away. but one thing that is new with him is he took his first steps yesterday!!!!! can you believe it??? only 9 and a half months old. He is a goer that is for sure. I am so excited. He is so adorable, i just hate seeing him so sick and miserable. Cross your fingers that this will go away soon.

More Christmas Festivities...

To celebrate more christmas, we decided that we will create a
ginger bread house. Brody was quite into it, but once i opened the candy he
was really really excited.

Brody decorated the roof and i decorated the christmas tree and walk way,
but for some reason or another, candies started disappearing. The reason..... Blake.
And as soon as Brody saw dad do it, he started eating it. Anyways it was a lot of fun, but
apparently my house building skills weren't very good. The next morning a wall was caved in.
Since Bently couldn't really be involved due to the numerous choking hazards, i thought i would add this cute picture. He is getting so funny, and recently he started walking with his brothers wagon. He pushes the thing around all day. he is getting there, but not quite brave enough to walk on his own. Whenever i leave him standing on his own, he slowly sits down.

Off the subject but i have to tell what happened last night. Blake came home and bently was in the kitchen with me. I was trying to feed him. Well as soon as blake came into the kitchen, bently took off and crawled over to him. Blake was filthy so he has to reject him long enough to wash his hands. Then he picked him up and talked to him. After talking to him for a while blake needed to go and take a shower, i went to take bently and he curled up his lip and turned into blake and started wimpering. ?what? So we tried again and this time bently started crying. Seriously this boy loves his dad. It totally reinstated that Bently is not a Momma's boy.....
That would be Brody.

Merry Christmas to Me!!!!

So i kept telling Blake that i wanted this bench. They had three at the time and i would keep going into the store to keep track. Well i went in the other day and there was only one!!!! So i told blake no more of this shop on christmas eve business. We need to go and get it!! So when we went in there was two but both were broken in spots. SO i looked around the store and found one that they were using as a display. And here she is.

And here she is painted.

It took me a while to decide what color to paint it.
But i can't get enough of red and so we went with that.

So here is our entry way. Just imagine Brown cushions and baskets inside the boxes.
Can you say ADORABLE??? I am a giddy school girl just posting this.
Thank you Santa (blake) for the best gift ever.

Sundays

So I love sundays, for more than one reason of course. ONE major reason is we get to spend time with blake. Lately he has been super busy (which i am greatful for) and has to work everyday except for sundays. So we get him all to ourselves.

This was before church. Some interesting facts about this picture is a. brody is wearing an outfit that his great grandma bought him last year.(he is tiny) b. Yes bently is chewing on a comb. he is struggling to get some top teeth and anything that will keep him from screaming is ok with me. and c. those little dots that you see on blakes tie is actually viagra pills. yes you heard me right. He got this comical tie on his MISSION of all places. thank goodness you have to look close in order to tell.

Then there is me... what is wrong with my face. Another reason we love sundays is church. it is so nice to go to church and wrestle with two tired onery boys in sacrement (along with many other families. sacrement is at 1:00), then i get to go to Nursery and take many children on potty breaks, hold children who are missing their mommies, and yes i admit it i occasionally steal a couple of fishies, or mini chocolate cookies. No but really it is so nice to feel the spirit and teach/learn about our savior.
this is after church. Look at bently's face, covered in Chicken N rice. But hey blake is feeding him so i can get more done. Since it is coming close to Chistmas it just makes me think of how blessed i am. My wonderful husband works his little toosh off, providing for our family. he is so unselfish and looks out for us. he is the best father to my boys. They love him so much and so do i. Thanx blake for always making me laugh and being there for me. luv you.

The Storytellers Parade

So yes it is December 6th and we went to a parade. odd i think. anyway it wasn't that cold and was loads of fun.

First the balloons came.

followed by a HUGE Noah's Ark. So honestly it is a huge boat that drives. crazy

Brody giving a high five to an enormous giraffe.

I can not tell you the screaming of excitement that errupted from brody when she drove by.
Yep thats her, Dora. Brody was jumping up and down and screaming. cutest thing ever

Woody and Buzz were there. They were standing on these drums that drove around.

A huge pirates boat. Seriously where do they keep these things? It was really cool. you couldn't see the wheels or anything, so it really looked like it was floating on the road. amazing

And best of all Santa. You could hear all of the kids scream and as you looked around you saw most of them jumping up and down. so cute. it has been so fun to have brody grown up enough that he knows who santa is and gets excited about him.
Of course there were many more characters but i couldn't take enough pictures. i had a blast thanks to heather and Tasha for going with me. What a blast. i had so much fun and so did Brody. He was so excited to see all the people that he sees on tv and in books. I think it is so great that Cedar City does this. We can't wait to go next year.

9 month and 3yr check up

Well today was far better than yesterday, and can you believe it that both children are asleep right now.....ahh breath of fresh air. anyway the stats are in...

BRody: weight- 30.1 lbs 30%

height (best of all) 36.2 in 17%

wow. so my son is a shorty, but we are ok with that. anyway doc says that on his milestones he is very advanced and off the charts. He said that it makes up for him being short. thanks. ps i must tell you that brody sang the whole song to dr grey of Monkeys Jumping on the bed. he asked me this a.m. if he could. he is so stinking cute. he left with a well deserved pencil.

BenTly: weight-19.5 lbs 30%

height- 27.5in 21%

Head circ. 18 in 60%

so it is obvious that i have boys that will be short with big heads. Bently is doing awesome. He is now walking on furniture and will stand for 3 seconds at a time by himself. He love to eat. and talk. he has quite the personality. His reflux is getting better. we are down to one dose of medicine a day instead of two.

Most of all i am so thankful that i have two healthy and beautiful boys. i couldn't of asked for more hilarious and full of spunk boys.

what a day.

So lately this has been the brower residence. Brody hugging and mawling bently and bently not cooperating. It seems now that Brody wants bently to pay attention to him at all times. Bently is very mobile, not walking but crawling like crazy and gets where he needs to. Brody screams until bently will look his way and then laughs hysterically. Funny at first but then my brain starts rattling and i have to tell him to quit it. crazy you love them even when they drive you crazy

Anyway I had an interesting experiance today. Heres the story. Today i loaded the kids in the truck to go to town and then started to back out of the garage. BAM!!! the garage door flies down and lands on the truck. "what is going on?? " i thought. i get out and look at the door which is shut on top of half of my truck. My neighbor Aly yells over "cass you need help?" still in a blur i said yea. so she comes over and helps me lift the door up. What had happened was, you know the string that you can pull when you need to close your door manually? well it got in the door when i was putting brody in his seat. so as i back up it takes the string with it, and along comes the door. I was a little shocked, confused and embarrassed to say the least. At least it was only Aly who saw me not the whole neighborhood like when brody locked himself in a running truck. (different story that i would love to forget about. i was the talk of the neighborhood that week) Anyway when blake comes home i tell him about how lucky we were that it didn't land on the cab of the truck and squish our kids and break the window. He laughs at me and tells me i am retarded to think that it could squish the cab. like i know. Really i know that he is just glad that no damage was done to the truck. i know how he thinks. then i hear the mumbling phrase, "crazy women drivers." hey as fas as i am concerned it could of happened to anyone :)

I must include what happened the rest of the day. 1. while we were loading the truck after coming out of a store, a man was smoking right next to the truck and brody looks up at him and says "you stink plugh" the man looks at me, i blush and wisk brody in to the truck. 2.Brody has a melt down, due to thomas movie. 3. after leaving walmart, my cart jumped the curb and broke the eggs. 4. brody has a melt down due to us not going to the park 5.while taking the groceries into the house on my last load in i drop a bag, and yes it had a glas jar of OJ, which yep you guessed it broke it and spilled everywhere. 6. brody is crying again and gets sent to bed for a nap. well that was most of my day. WOW. hopefully tomorrow will be better but not counting on it due to the fact that we have double dr appts. and shots. be optimistic cass, as Adam Sandler would say it....GOOSE FRABA.
